Why include DVI to VGA adapter with GPUs w/o VGA input?

I'm asking this because I have a monitor that has only a VGA connection I'm trying to figure out which 5770 to buy. They all seem to have this adapter and not the VGA to DVI that I would need, which is a bit confusing.
Also while I have your attention which of the following should I go for?

The PowerColor seems to have better specs but it seems as though XFX is a more widely known brand. It's going towards my first build.

If your monitor is vga, then you want a dvi to vga adaptor lol. It changed the output on your video card from dvi to vga which you have then, you just plug in your vga cable,

Personally i would go with xfx because it has a better warranty, overclocking on a gpu is super easy, so i personally wouldn't buy a pre overclocked gpu

Ohhhhh... Ha, ya I feel pretty dumb. I was thinking the opposite, like monitor to video card so like dvi to vga meant like dvi monitor to vga slot on card... Anyways thanks for clearing that up, didn't think of it that way. And most people seem like they go for the XFX so I guess I can't go wrong with that.

It's cool, it something that can get mixed up if your not too familiar with the hardware

But looking that the gpu's again, if your only planning on having this card for less then 2 years, and you don't feel comfortable overclocking, the go ahead with the powercolor, otherwise stick with the xfx

You're right, I'm not too comfortable but I think I want to leave myself open to that in the future. And I'm planning on keeping this probably for about 4 years considering Starcraft 2 and playing movies on an HDTV are my only purposes for this card so I'll probably go with the XFX.
