Yeah, intel's mobile 2xxx (Sandy Bridge) lineup is a bit weird.
there is even the i7-2620M, which is marketed as a Core i7 but its only a 2 Core with HyperThreading...
I wish they would have kept it somewhat clean or changed the nomenclature entirely like:
i3 = 2 core w/HT
i5 = 4 core
i7 = 4 core w/HT
i8 = 8 core (when it happens)
i9 = who knows
This having 2 core processors falling in the i3, i5 and i7 makes it a pain in the butt when researching processors.
