Question Why is dropping to 80fps so noticeable on 240hz monitor?

I'm running the following system:

3080
5900x
32gb 3600mhz
Samsung Odyssey G7 1440p 240hz

And for some reason in New World (game) -- if I go from open world (100-200 fps) into a town or a pvp scenario, it is insanely noticeable how "unsmooth" the movement on the screen is in comparison. I have G-sync on...so why in the world do I lose that buttery smoothness at 80 frames? I'm not dropping to 20 or something.

Secondly - I'm running a three monitor setup. Maybe monitor = 240hz. The other two = 144hz. I saw something about that causing issues for G-Sync...but I can't figure out how to turn G-Sync off of just those two monitors without turning off my main monitor too.

I've tried TONS of stuff...but to no avail.

Sure someone else will chime in but using G-sync, VRR or Freesync (pro) works like complete crap when you are using Multiple monitors that are not the same exact model.

As for VRR range is 80-240 fps for G-sync to work correctly.
My PG279QM G-Sync operates between 20-240Hz.

I also have a second 1440p 144Hz G-Sync monitor (LG GL83A) and I’ve not run into any problems yet when both are on.

So the other monitors actually DON'T have G-Sync. Was a mistake on my part. They're 144hz monitors, but no G-sync. However when I go to G-Sync in Nvidia they're both listed.

The Odyssey's G7 VRR range is 60-240Hz on driver version 452.06 or later (this version is from August 2020). You may also have to update the firmware.

Also I run dual monitors and don't really have much of an issue with things not appearing smooth and I play several games where the frame rate goes down between 50-70 FPS.
Just checked and monitor seems to have the latest firmware. Latest on the site is ver 1014.1 from Feb. 2022 and my monitor is showing 1014.1

So to be clear, it's mostly just like a noticeable stutter when I hit that mark which may just be the drop from 120-150 down to 90-80 pretty quickly.

In addition, SHOULD it feel like a 60-80hz monitor if the frames drop to 60-80 even if G-Sync is on and the monitor is a 240hz?
