[SOLVED] Why is it that my computer returns to 60hz at some times?

My specs are an i7-9700k and an RTX 2070 and I am really curious when I try to go to play Minecraft and other video games on the main menu/home screen my screen suddenly becomes 60hz and once i enter the game it suddenly becomes 180hz again (which is what my monitor can handle). Any solutions?

The main menu's might be locked to 60Hz by the game engine to reduce load; makes sense as the game is still probably going through initialization at that point.
