Why is my 4790k running at 4.4 ghz full load during stress test?

Shouldn't it be 4.0 ghz all core, so why is mine always at 4.4ghz when I test it?
My bios settings are all at auto. Motherboard Z97x UD3H.

I read somewhere that this might be something called enhanced turbo? Does anyone know how I could disable this without disabling the normal turbo?

Many motherboard brands implement Turbo Mode differently than Intel boards. And GIGABYTE Z97X-UD series has Automatic Overclock option.

4.4ghz all core is normal? Shouldn't it only reach 4.4 if one core is used?
I thought all core under load would disable turbo speed?

How do I disable this automatic overclock then? If I lock the multiplier to 40 in the BIOS then turbo just won't happen at all, no matter if single core is used or if all cores are used.

 
Ok, I think I got it, there is a turbo option in the bios for each stage (1,2,3, or 4 cores used). They were all at auto thats why I had 4.4 ghz even all 4 cores were under load. I just changed them manually to 4.4, 4.4, 4.3, and 4.2 respectively and now I only get 4.2 ghz with all 4 cores under stress load. I guess my BIOS thought auto means the maximum value.
 
Happened same to me sometimes, using gigabytes z97x-sli. Don't worry about that, though. Standard would be 4.2ghz so thats just a 200mhz increment and only during all core stress tests. For usual usage it won't even change anything.

I have the same combination and I wonder if you ever encountered random restarts with the default bios settings (even without full load, just idling in Windows). That's my problem right now.
Temperature is not an issue and the power supply is strong enough. It seems to work fine if I disable the turbo in bios (not sure yet, ran fine for 3 hours). However that can't be a solution. I want to use it.
