Hello,
after I reinstalled my windows professional into SP3 (before it was SP2), my computer gets an error message after a couple hours that says: the instruction at "0x6f8916e2" referenced memory at "0x00b5005c" bla bla... and after that my audio device won't work anymore until I restart the system. what do I do to fix it? my computer spec:
Dual core 2.66GHz
512 MB RAM
windows XP professional SP 3
speaker: Genius

hello, i had the same problem but this time my os is windows vista 32x, whenever i boot, i had to disable then enable it through the device manager. i had experimented many ways to prevent this from happening, i even scrutinized the driver folders to identify the signed drivers, had to copy it and put it all in the folders that has the same exact driver file(overwriting it), i did resolved the problem and the icon of the sound device in the device manager is now clear of the exclamation point alert (yellow alert with triangle shape). But stil, after i boot the, sound in the tray system is crossed out again again every time i reboot and reboot. my sound card is an add-on pci card, ESS allegro, i had tried all of the possible drivers that i can find some will work and some will not, especially the driver that is compatible only with windows xp, and not with windows vista(32x or 64x). any comment is extremely appreciated, my email is vilereed@yahoo.com
