Hello,

About a month ago I bought the parts to my very first gaming PC.

Parts:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700X 3.4GHz 8-Core Processor

CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Motherboard: MSI X370 PRO GAMING CARBON ATX AM4 Motherboard

Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory

SSD: Kingston A400 120GB 2.5"

HDD: WD BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1080 SEAHAWK X 8GB

Case: Corsair - Carbide 400C ATX Mid Tower Case

PSU: Corsair - CSM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

OS: Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit

I had someone who I knew help me build it considering the fact that I had never built a computer before.

However, after updating my drivers I noticed my games were running at much lower framerates than I expected them too.
Here's a few games and their fps averages (at 1920x1080p ultra settings)

GTAV: 50-55 FPS
CSGO: 160 FPS
Rainbow Six Siege: 80 FPS

Here's a link that may be of use. http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/4773681 I've read multiple posts that say the memory and storage would not affect the performance of games significantly. So what could be the problem???

I have a friend who has a similar build to mine and he says that his FPS averages are much higher than mine are.
Please help me figure out why my FPS is extremely low.

Thanks.

My DVI cable is plugged into my GPU and not the motherboard
V-sync is off in NVIDIA Control Panel
All of my video drivers are updated (I've uninstalled and reinstalled)

1) make you're you're on high performance plan in windows

2) update your bios

3) enable xmp/docp in bios to speed ram up. Whoever said ram speed doesn't matter for gaming doesn't know anything about ryzen

4) oc your processor to at least 3.8ghz.

BIOS is updated. A-XMP in bios is enabled. I'm on the high performance plan in windows. I'm not too sure what else to do besides overclocking the processor when I know that there is something significantly wrong.
