Why is my computer crashing?

I have a pretty cheap gaming pc that I have been upgrading and it was running fine up until a week ago. The computer would randomly crash. Now by crash I mean the screen would freeze and become unresponsive. I believe its a heat issue because I have a small case and a power supply that can just barley handle my graphics card. My graphics card requires 300 watts of power and my psu is 350 watts. What can I do?

If your gfx card almost maxes your psu on its own, then, when factoring in the rest of your components (cpu, memory, etc) it's no wonder you're running into trouble.

Use a couple of the many sites available to reconfirm your total wattage requirements (not just the gfx card).

If required (and it looks like it) consider purchasing a replacement psu that also give you enough headroom for any more upgrades you might do in the future. As usual, stick to well known brands e.g. Corsair.
