Why is my cpu extremely slower now?

Cpu- Amd Athlon ll X4 635, 2.90 GHz 4 Cores 4 Threads.

Info- Cpu was tested in cinebench about a year ago and was scored at 300. Cpu was also tested in cinebench around 5 minutes ago and was scored at 159..

Questiion- Why is it insanely slower than before?

I would say that there are a couple of possibilities. The first was that you didn't have the settings the same on one or the other benchmark. The second is that your CPU and/or system is running slower.

Was there an overclock on the first. The processor may be defective. The power supply may be marginal. The memory may be defective (are all of the RAM sticks functional?).

1: Settings are the same
2: Power supply is 1000 watt and seems to run fine
3: Ram seems to be working

It is a case of one or the other. Either the testing with Cinebench was defective or the system is defective.

Obviously you can't repeat the earlier benchmark, but you can repeat the last one. If you have a printout of the previous results, compare the settings to make sure that everything was the same. I would look closely at the memory and CPU settings.


I would also troubleshoot the system.
