Question Why is my display acting like this?

I left for work and came back and this is what my laptop screen displays. Using an external display via hdmi works fine though

welcome to the forums
this is all that the screen displays, even during POST/boot? no drivers are needed during boot and a failure here leans towards a broken device.
when you close the screen does the displayed image change? its possible the display ribbon cable is loose, and movement would/should/could cause the image to change.
the fact that the HDMI will drive another display means the GPU is good. the issue is in the panel itself.

Yes it happens when i boot the pc as well. I have two gpu's intel integrated and nvidia. Hdmi is connected to the nvidia.
