My fx 6300 processor is slow in games and heavy programs... all processor pins are normal -
it is heating up a little more than normal, only with Google Chrome open example: normal:43ºC
now: 52ºc
After I switched to my old athlon ii x2 250, it didn't slow down in games, what could it be???

My fx 6300 processor is slow in games and programs... This is not normal, because my old athlon II x2 250 processor is performing normally

my fx 6300 processor worked normally, then suddenly it became slow in games and programs... my old athlon ii processor works normally without freezing in games for games in its category

for that CPU 62C is max safe temperature
While it's not uncommon to hold lower temps for added margin 6300's are safe to run hotter than that.... Tjmax for the processor is 70.5C as spec'd by AMD.

That said, it's not easy to determine proper CPU core temperature on FX processors. In fact, it's pretty much impossible. Even AMD's method used in Overdrive which reports remaining margin to 70.5C is little more than an estimation.

Something has changed in your system. In addition to scanning for malware...have you installed any new software lately?

Another thing that could happen is BIOS losing overclock settings someone made or you may have forgot about. Possibly a CMOS reset from changing the battery, for instance. These processors are EXTREMELY overclockable which is the only way to make up for their low IPC and be competitive with processors of the era.

The processors in a FX6300 are abysmally slow by today's standards.
But, that does not explain the sudden slow down.
What is the make/model of your motherboard?
Basic FX Motherboards(excepting FX990) did not have good cooling for their VRM parts.
The cpu temperatures might be ok, but the motherboard may be getting too hot.
See what happens if you take the case side cover off and direct a house fan at the innards.

Then, also, games depend mostly on the performance of the single master thread.
As a check, run the cpu-z bench on your fx6300 and look at the single thread rating.
You should see about 225:
Any modern processor will do double that.

Tine, I think, to plan on a replacement.

but tjmax is chip temperature, while cpu temperature reported by mainboard is from sensor located on mainboard near CPU, that one should be lower than TjMAX..and TjMAX is also not 24/7 operating temperature, some mainboard will show TCaseMAX temperature instead of its own sensor, in that case its heatspreader temperature which also isnt TjMAX

That's true...but many (if not most) motherboards don't report a socket temperature. Tdie is available on any decent monitoring utility... HWINfo, HWMonitor, even AMD's own Overdrive where it's reported as a thermal margin. Just understand it's quirks and inherent innacuracy.

Also...Tjmax may not be a 24/7 operating temperature (not so sure of that, not arguing it either) but it's the very rare home user that runs their system pegged like that. Along with useage it runs much cooler with high peeks before cooling back down even in games.

But then, maybe some (like me!) do crazy things with it since this is 10 yo outmoded tech that begs to be driven into the dirt before it's completely useless. I've run my FX-6300 @ 4.7Ghz with temps cycling around 65-70C for several months with Folding@Home. But then I got tired of the piddling work credit for all that sturm und drang and shut it down. Ran some stability tests to see if anything happened: it was just as good as when I started it off. I still game with it from time to time.
