Why is my FX8350 4.4GHz?

Bought a nearly new second hand PC a couple months ago from a guy who bought all the parts, put them together then decided he wanted a MAC?! It has an FX8350 CPU which according to my desktop widget is running 4.4GHz yet the seller says he's not overclocked anything? Whole thing has been super stable, I've had 2x BSOD's in the few months I've had it not sure what from but one was just after booting up so prob not overloaded CPU related.

My mobo does have an overclocking button but again the seller said he hadn't touched it.

Download CPU-Z - http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

That should tell you what your clock speeds are so you can know for sure.

That's odd, maybe he bought it used also, but didn't tell you? I wouldn't complain.

I have some OC software that came with my mobo, what values can I check to see whats going on? Never OC'd anything so not sure what I'm looking for.

I don't know why that's a bad thing lol. You're mobo just automatically overclocked it. No worries. I'd leave it
