[SOLVED] Why is my gpu only using 80% to 81% usage when I play games.

I recently upgraded from a 1050 ti to a rx 5500 xt and now when I play any game it caps out at 81% usage, my cpu (Ryzen 5 2600) sits around 20-40% usage when I play as well. I have the latest drivers for my gpu.

what games do you play and on what settings and what resolution?

Edit:Battle Royales,FPS games,sandboxes are much more CPU dependant the GPU,so you really have to max out the settings in those games if u want to use 100% of the 5500Xt

Apex, Fortnite, Rust at 1920x1080 and when i play on 1600x900 same thing happens im currently downloading an update to windows 10 version 20H2 because nothing else has worked, I already reinstalled drivers like 4 times I got rid of any trace of my 1050 ti as well. I also play at low settings when I turn my graphics up my usage stays the same at 80 I cap all my games at 144 also my temps are perfectly normal when I play

Yes 144 on all games its like something capped my gpu usage at 80 during gameplay, In some loading screens my gpu will use 100% but never during gameplay.

2600 and 5500Xt have no problem outputting 144fps in battle royale games,if you are playing at competitive settings.
I dont think thats a problem.Maybe in other games you will be seeing different usage values

Yes I know that but the issue is even when I play with competitive settings (uncapped) my gpu still wont push out the extra frames it still only uses 80%

My 5500 xt can't hold a stable 144 fps with only 80% gpu usage

when I'm playing games my temps are normal. I did a benchmark (MSI Kombustor, FurMark-MSI 1920x1080) and my gpu never went above 60c the highest it went was 57c, My gpu was using 100% usage while benchmarking

Competitive settings are CPU BOUND, mate.

That doesn't mean anything, game to game. In lots of situations, games are programmed such that you can't always use every last bit of CPU power.'

The proper thing to do here is benchmark your PC.

I tested other games beside the main ones I play and my gpu reached 100% on some (rust) sorry I was confused. My 1050 ti 4gb was always at 100% usage lol
