Just bought a Dell g5 gaming notebook. I'm using it as my main computer, so I went out and bought a new monitor. The monitor is working fine, except it's connected to the Intel integrated graphics, and not the gtx 1060 thats in my laptop. So naturally, it runs games like crap. The monitor is connected via HDMI which is the only display port on the laptop. I'd like to know if there's a way to get my monitor to connect to the gpu thats in my laptop. Thanks!

The HDMI ports in most laptops are almost always connected to the iGPU (integrated graphics). However you can also use the GTX 1060 for graphics output in your monitor. You just have to select the GTX 1060 as the default GPU for all (or specific) tasks in the Windows graphics settings (or the GPU driver settings). The GTX 1060 will do all the work and then it will send all the data to the iGPU (which is connected to the HDMI port), in order to be displayed in the monitor.
