Hello guys, i was using monitor Philips 220E with my old pc when i got my new pc with radeon rx 590 my monitor started flickering. I bought new monitor with my money from my old computer with 144hz and freesync and now it doesn't flicker. I had seen youtubers with older monitors that doesn't flicker. I change my cable that was VGA to HDMI with VGA to DISPLAY PORT and there is almost no difference from before. Do you know something that can help? And also monitor flickers only when i play video games and yes the task bar flickers too.

PS. Sorry if there are misspellings.

This:

" I bought new monitor with my money from my old computer with 144hz and freesync and now it doesn't flicker. " Seems to be something missing or a typo?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS.

Make and model monitor(s)?

What games do you play?

Start by ensuring that you have the correct and most current GPU drivers installed.

Sorry i was trying to make it fast.

Now my main monitor is AOC C24G1 that i bought it with my money from my old pc. It has freesync and the flickering problem disappeared but for second monitor which is Philips 220E started flickering so much that it became annoying. I changed the cable from vga to hdmi with vga to display port and nothing happened. My second monitor wasn't flickering when i had my old pc (it was a workstation).

Pc specs
processor: amd ryzen 5 2600 stock cooler
mobo: Gigabyte B450M DS3H
video: AMD RX 590 PHANTOM GAMING X OC 8GB
ram" Team Group T-Force Delta RGB 8GB

I'm mainly playing Fortnite

Three things you can do:

1) Add up the wattage requirements of all new pc components and add 25%. How close is that wattage total to the wattage of your current PSU? Remember if a component provides a wattage range, use the high end wattage value.

2) Compare your system's hardware specs to the recommended specs for Fortnite. Most games list hardware specs in some "minimal", "recommended", and "best" categories. You do not want "minimum" and you do want as much "best" as you can afford.

3) Use Task Manager and then Resource Monitor to observe system performance both when there is no flickering and then when flickering is occurring. You may be able to discover some change that correlates with the flickering.

1) I got 400W but i'm not sure. I will list you my specs to try to calculate it because i am probably wrong.
AMD Ryzen 5 2600 stock cooler
AMD RX 590 Phantom Gaming X OC 8GB
Gigabyte B450M DS3H
SP A55 480 GB SSD
Thermaltake Litepower RGB 550W
Team Group T-Force Delta RGB 8GB RAM
1TB Hard Disk Drive

2) I made it to recommended settings that made everything to extra and the flickering was worse. While making this I changed back to all low only view distance was far and the flickering was really small, but for a while

3) I don't see nothing wrong only thing is Power Usage in task bar on Fortnite is Very high. Here are some pics View: https://imgur.com/a/FGMuiU6

Recommended PSU for GPU = 600 watts.

Reference:

https://www.asrock.com/Graphics-Card/AMD/Phantom Gaming U Radeon RX 590 8G OC/#Specification

Do verify that I identified the correct GPU.

Also, from within this Forum regarding motherboard & similar specs: 450 watts.

Your Thermaltake LitePower PSU is a low end PSU.

Overall, I think your build is demanding more power than the PSU can steadily provide.
Can you advice what power supply to buy? And im on a budget. Can you find budget psu's ?

Do you think if i buy cheap 60hz monitor with amd freesync the flickering would stop? Because my main monitor doesn't flicker it has freesync and if the problem is with the power supply why my main monitor doesn't flicker ? And when i cap to 60fps the flickering is really small. And i really think its not from the psu.

It goes beyond wattage - details matter.

PSU Information:

PSU Purchase:

If anything a "cheap" monitor may just be worse due to lower quality and design. Plus more likely to have assembly and QA (if any) related issues.

The key is to determine one way or another that the existing PSU is not the problem.

Start with as minimal load as possible and reduce startup apps. Work to correlate the flickering with some certain identifiable hardware or software configuration.

Then start adding things back, one at a time while allowing sometime between additions. Leave the Resource Monitor window open to one side for continuous monitoring.
