Why is my new computer so slow?

I just bought this new computer a few weeks ago. For the first 2 weeks it was running smoothly. But now the performance significantly slows down. What could be the problem??

hdd means hard disc drive...it's a component of your notebook where you save your files...5400rpm is the speed of your's hdd and 5400 is too slow for todays standards..may wanna think about getting 7200rpm hdd..and also cpu is quad core so it's not about it..try reinstall windows

How much would it generally cost to upgrade from 5400rpm to 7200rpm hdd usually? Im thinking about 750 gb of memory?

i downloaded malwarebytes and ran a scan. It didnt find any malicious items. Any other suggestion?

Try MSCONFIG to disable all the startup items (you can re-enable them again when needed). See if having the startup items disabled improves things. If so then one, by one re-enable things until it slows down again. You then know WHAT is causing the slowdown. You will then have to investigate how to fix it.
