Why is my PC running so slow?

Right, here are my specs:

Intel i7 4790k CPU
MSI z97 gaming 3 mobo
AMD r9 290 GPU
8gb ram
1tb hdd
850w psu

It's so slow, I can literally google something and find the answer faster on my iPhone than I can on a PC THAT HAS I7 COSTING 250, why is it doing this? I've defragged, scanned for virus and malware and it's so slow - feels like I'm using a PC from 300 BC - please help a lost soul out

Try running CCleaner to declutter. Also, if you haven't already when scanning for virus/malware, do a scan with Malware Bytes.

start menu-->search-->msconfig-->services-->hide all Microsoft services-->ban those programs which are useless.

Which OS are you running? Is this the 'upgrade' from W7 or W8.1 to W10 by chance?

When did you install your OS last? A true 'clean' install. Not a clone etc.
