Question why is my projector screen a darker colour than my monitor when i plug in the vga cable and duplicate the screen to my espon projector?

i plug in the VGA cable and I've used a video splitter but when i try to duplicate to the projector but it dosent work and the screen is darker can anyone help?

First, check how your video card handles different video outputs, there might be settings for that.
Second, your projector might have settings to control intensity / contrast.
