[SOLVED] Why is my Samsung 860 EVO showing insanely fast speeds?

My boot drive is a Samsung 860 EVO 500 GB SSD that is showing ~2400 MB/s and even faster write times! I still have SATA 2. There's a few PNY drives that are reading ~275 MB/s which seems about right. Here's two benchmarks... "https://imgur.com/gallery/4gtW54D". Running an ASUS P7P55-M with an i7 870. I'm updating to a ASUS ROG Crosshair VII and a Ryzen 7 2700X in 10 days.

Am I missing something? These speeds seem wrong, but with 3 different benchmarks, they're all approximately the same.

As the saying goes, if it ain't broken, don't fix it. In your case, you're actually doing well for a dated platform, so you should leave things as they are.

You are most probably using "Rapid mode" that artificially enhances speed by using RAM as an added fast cache.

That was it. I closed Samsung Magician through the Task Manager, but did not disable Rapid Mode & restart.
