My rig
Intel i5 4440 3.1 ghz
8 GB Ram
B85M-D3H
GTX 960

I mean, Of course it is an above average rig, i seriously get 3 mbps - 5 mbps speed. why the hell?
Please suggest me the possible reason's and solutions.
Note - I do have an 500 GB Hard disk, it's more than one year old.
Update: My hard disk is also nearly full, and that speed is just not with a pen drive but also in the PC.
I asked the same in yahoo no body answered it :'(

Can you give info on your harddrive? Different harddrives have different transfer speed (which usually gets ignored when ppl choose hdd`s. Also you are transfering from 1 partition/folder to another on the same drive or from one drive to another (or to usb/from usb). Or you are transfering through network?
BTW check what RPM have your hdd... is it 7200 or lower?

If you want faster transfers and have the money i suggest you to move to SSD

How do you propose I Check at which RPM my hard disk is? I don't there is a huge difference between while tranfering from one drive to another or in the same one. Tho, i Do remember once it going 22mbps.

The RPM should be written on the drive.
The speed of transferring from 1 drive to another depends on the lower of the 2 speeds
Transferring speed inside the same drive should depend on the speed of the drive, also the state of the drive (if its faulty) and if the OS is on it - the state of the OS.

Hi there Hungry777,

No matter if the drive is 5400 or 7200 RMP, the transfer speed should be higher than the one you are observing.
Also, as you are facing some HDD issue, it is always a good idea to backup the crucial data that is stored on the HDD until you sort the issue out.
Apart from that, you can try several things:
- Free up some space. Here's a guide how to do that: http://www.howtogeek.com/125923/7-ways-to-free-up-hard-disk-space-on-windows/
- Defragment the drive.
- Test the drive with some brand specific testing tool(or a third party one). The results should provide a S.M.A.R.T. report as well as an overall health status grade.

Hope this will help,
