Why is one more expensive than the other?

was just wondering why G.skill tridentx 1866mhz is more expensive than the 2400mhz.

The only reason I can imagine, is that not all MOBOs can use the 2400 MHz version.

I dont get it. So what if mobos cant run 2400mhz. Why would that make it 1866mhz more expensive

Because more people want the 1866 Mhz and it drives the prices up.

It just depends on the vendor. Crazy deals for the DDR3-2400 recently, so get it if you see it! =)

Supply and demand. You can run the 2400 Tri's at 1866 (and with the tighter timings and possibly even CL7) if you want but see no reason not to run 2400 if the CPU and mobo can take 2400
