Why is performance lower when I upgraded to faster ram

I normally had adata xpg 8gb 2800mhz 17 cas. And I upgraded to g skill ripjaws 5 16gb 3000mhz 15 cas. After upgrading my gaming performance went down. Could it be because the g skill ram was used and bought off ebay? And if you know what the problem is can you also tell me how to fix it?

what is your full system spec? it the ram running at the right speed?

Did you set ram to proper speed in bios (on ryzen you also often have to set it to 2933 and not 3000.

Used ram on ebay can be sketchy. You could easily have some generic brand 2133 memory with Gskill heat sinks attached to them, or ram is defective and for whatever reason got sold instead of RMA
