This PNY ssd have similar spec or maybe a little faster spec than the intel ssd. But why is it way cheaper than the intel one? is it because of the brand or....?

There were deal for these 2 ssd. the PNY ssd was @ 50.00 and the intel one was @ 70.
Missed the deal cause I didn't know which one to buy. 🙁

Please tell me why is the intel price higher than the pny. and maybe also which one would you get if you were me.
thank you

When you buy an SSD drive of a set brand name you have to place close attention in some cases to the read and write speeds of each drive by looking at the specifications.

It also comes down to the type of Fash memory used on each SSD drive SLC or MLC.
And also down to the speed the drives can read and write at will set sizes of blocks of data chunks.

Often you have to take a good look at what the iops through put is a higher value will give a higher read or write speed depending on the size of the data blocks the drive is reading or writing.

Which name have most consumers heard of and generally trust? Intel. The name alone is more than enough to let Intel get away with charging more than competitors at the same level of performance. Additionally, there may be differences in warranty or support (Intel probably has advantages here) that could justify the markup.

MLC Nand is more expensive than SlC Nand because it is stacked into two layers where the capacity of each flash nand chip is double in density or capacity but still packaged on a chip the same dimensions as a SLC nand chip.

And like with all chips, there are slightly more costly ones, and cheaper versions.
The cheaper having more limitations Tom such as the iops through put values being lower.
