I am curious, looking at the CPU prices on http://www.pricewatch.com I noticed the current 6/28/01 price for the PIII 1gig 256k cache 133mhz flip chip is the same as the PIII 600 512k cache 100mhz slot one, both going for $169.

I can see that the 600 has twice the cache, gee I don't get it, maybe someone can enlighten me.

I have much to learn, "perfection is a direction not a destination".

I believe slot processors are more expensive (which they are) because they're not made anymore.

thats why its more expensive they don't make it anymore(i'm running one currently).

They are no longer produced. They have slower off-die cache, which was more expensive to implement. People still need them for certain systems, so companies have no reason to reduce the prices.
