Hello,

In the previous post I asked what will happen if you install wrong bios manufacturer.

But why do some say bios will bricked while others say bios file will not even recognized by bios if you install wrong manufacturer.
(Some say it can't even happens a bricked motherboard because of wrong manufacturer)

Will be there a message on the screen for example "bios file cannot be installed" or "bios update not compatible"?

Can someone give a clear answer and explain how it works? I am really curious and really worried about it.

Kind Regards
Nico

You got proper answers there, IMHO.

If the BIOS flashing utility isn't dumb, then you're not going to be able to flash the wrong BIOS file onto the board. However there have been instances where BIOS files from the wrong board were used out of desperation and eventually rendered the board to be an expensive paper weight or bricked.

When this happens you either need to reflash the BIOS with a CH341A BIOS programming toolkit or you need top replace the BIOS chip(if flashing the BIOS isn't working).

Will be there a message on the screen for example "bios file cannot be installed" or "bios update not compatible"?
Depends on the manufacturer of the motherboard. A generic answer can't be given on this field.

Now, to get to the crux of the matter, what is the make and model of your motherboard and what BIOS version are you on now? What BIOS version are you trying to flash to?
