Why is the R5 1600 equal or better than R7 1700 at gaming?

So i couldn't make my mind which to buy. Price difference is about 100$ in my country. And their performance in gaming is almost equal.

Solution
if all cores are used, the 1700 is @stock 3,15 GHz and the 1600 @stock 3,4GHz, more frequency is better for gaming than more cores/threads (for now)

very less games are using more than 4 cores/threads at the same time

If you wanna stream or render or edit: the more cores the better
because the main difference between them is number or available cores/threads.
There are very few games out there (at the moment) that can take advantage of more than 6/12 cores/threads available on the ryzen 1600.
That's why there is very little difference between the two for gaming.

Im planning on streaming and doing video editings so i might consider 1700 for the long run also. plus i saw it uses less cpu than the r5
