Solution
There is a large stockpile of Pascal Cards (10 series) and retailers also haven't understood that the crypto craze has died down and people aren't spending massive amounts (In most cases) to buy a new video card. You also have a massive amount of GPU's being resold on EBay, further damaging the price of current video cards.

Nvidia can control the supply of the New Turing (20 series) cards, and keep their prices reasonable, but with all thats happened with the Pascal cards, they lost control of the MSRP for Pascal cards...badly.

AFAIK they have stopped producing the Pascal Cards to concentrate on the Turing cards, and that is why there are less 1080's.
