Why is there such a lack of rx 580's on the market currently?

I'm trying to build a PC using an rx580 GPU, preferably the 8GB variant, but I can't find any in stock for the life of me. There are some 4GB variants available, but literally all the 8GBs are completely out of stock at every online retailer I could find. It seems that there is a pretty large absence of the cards, even though it's a pretty much a brand new product, anybody know why?

The ASUS Dual OC Radeon RX 580 8GB I was looking to purchase is on back order until August 2nd!

This is an excellent example of supply and demand. In this case, a product with an excellent performance/price ratio hits the market and viola! Instant demand on a relatively small supply.

I suspect the upcoming Vega launch (heck, any major GPU/CPU will likely do the same to some extent) will also sell-out early stockage levels. Another recent example of this was the Ryzen launch.

This bodes well for consumers as competition increases and better products come to market.

You think they would have realized this by now and upped the amount of product they produce, they're losing money by not keeping there cards on the shelves.

Most likely they are making them as fast as they can already. Im using a RX 570 in a virtual pinball table im building, interested to see if there is any difference in what I run between the RX 460 and the RX 570. I know in gaming it would be a huge leap. But pinball doesnt take a beastly PC to run.
