Why is this GPU more expensive?

While the specs are very similar the EVGA just has more bells and whistles such as RGB lighting, more power phases and probably a better binned chip meaning it has the potential to OC higher. As far as stock performance their probably isnt a notable difference between the two.
Hey, a 1080 is a 1080. Whether or not you want to pay the extra for a premium model is up to you.

Pretty much all GTX 1080s made by reputable companies (Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI, etc) have good VRMs and good cooling. You really don't need to pay the extra just to have a good gaming experience.

Now if you are trying to set world records, then it would be worth paying the extra for the best of the best. That way you'd have a good start when you are ready to get modding.
