I have one of these Mushkin MKNSSDCL240GB-DX SSDs. I wanted to know what it was worth to sell and I see Newegg has it listed for $650 and I thought it was a mistake. Then I see CDW has it for $450. What's the deal? Is it really that expensive? If so, why?? I was going to sell it in an older laptop, but not if it's worth $500!

$639 - https://www.newegg.com/mushkin-enhanced-callisto-240gb/p/N82E16820226138
$445 - https://www.cdw.ca/product/Mushkin-Callisto-Deluxe-solid-state-drive-240-GB-SATA-3Gb-s/2366072
$266 - https://www.avadirect.com/240GB-Cal...ch-Bracket-SATA-3-Gb-s-Retail/Product/5145772

This Anandtech article from 2010 has it listed at $666:
https://www.anandtech.com/show/3725/mushkin-release-callisto-ssd-series-featuring-sandforce-
So I could see these prices 10 years ago, but now? Is it because people need replacements and must try to match a model or firmware?

Those prices are not updated most likely... no offence, but I wouldn't pay more than $10 for a 10 year old SSD... that's mostly because of it's remaining lifespan and also the speeds. Older SATA SSDs are a lot slower than current gen ones.

Those prices have nothing to do with matching a firmware. You just buy a new SSD and reinstall everything on it(newer SATA SSDs will work on 10+ year old PCs as long as they have SATA).

Thanks for the replies. I just found where I got it- Newegg- 10/16/13 for $175. Still seems odd to me that every place that has them is selling them for 2x to 4x their old price, but, ok.
