The other day I made a post about a question I had with one of my old phones, and right after I got it solved my post was removed. I was notified of it and it stated that I was to take phone related questions to Tom's Guide Forum. So I did so but with a different question about a different phone, I still haven't gotten a single reply so far. In fact, almost every post is from around a month ago and almost all of them have only the starting post and nothing else. There is barley anyone using the site at any given time and there are absolutely zero moderators working at any given time. My main question is, why do computer related questions and phone related questions have to be on 2 completely different websites? Why isn't everything just all on one single website? It's honestly kind of idiotic in my opinion, although, it's probably so all of the moderators don't get overwhelmed with things.

This is a question for corporate officers, if you know what I mean? Wink. Wink.

It has nothing to do with moderators. It has nothing to do with regular employees, which moderators are NOT, since they are all volunteers. It certainly has nothing to do with "being overwhelmed", because to be honest, we see maybe 25% of the traffic we used to see just a few years ago, come through either of the forums.

Honestly though, the very BEST place for you to get decent answers to any phone related question is generally on the forum of the carrier you have service through or the forum of the company your phone is branded as.

TG is really, ahem, not useful these days. TH is very useful, but only because there is a core of highly knowledgeable veteran members and moderators here that enjoy helping people. And keep in mind as well, anything on the editorial side of the fence is strictly separate aside from article comments, from the community forums.

A lot of forums are like this...

I am on a couple of car forums and the support is generally best with the most popular cars or specifically ones where they like to tinker with them.. My Polo is not that type and often there is nothing in the way of replies for months.. plenty of readers though..
If I do find something useful personally I just make a point of posting it there for others to use.

And THAT, is exactly what people are supposed to do so that things which are relatively obscure, can at least have SOME clarification from people who have first hand experience with that specific thing.
