Why is Toshiba laptop SLEEP mode not working with the Win 10 April 2018 update?

After updating Windows 10 to version 1803 (the April 2018 update) last week SLEEP mode no longer works.

What I mean is that instead of putting my Toshiba Satellite L75-A7271 to sleep it actually shuts down to the power off state. (No BIOS update since 2014 -- but Intel had a newer display driver from 2017.)

Anyone else seeing this with their Toshiba laptop?

FYI, there is also a post by me at the Microsoft Community Forum.

Did you try to update / re-install the correct Intel Management Engine Interface driver version for your CPU? I had similar issues on my desktop system (PC was shutting down, but the hardware did not power off).

TY flobernd.

In a week of reading about and/or testing perhaps as many as 100 options -- this is one I had not considered.

I did find the Intel Management Engine Interface under "System devices" in the Device Manager.

I then managed to update a 2013 version to version 11.0.0.1166 in 2015.
Unfortunately, when I tried to put my Toshiba laptop in sleep mode it still powers down -- which of course is related to -- but not exactly the same -- as the issue you were having.

Back to the drawing board for now.
