Why isnt windows vista 64 bit backwards compatible

i have windows vista 64 bit system i pulled out my older children's fav. games for my 2 year old to enjoy. however-i get error mgs. saying i cannot run 32 bit. how can i get around this?

You may never get them to run, lots of older programs can't run on a 64 bit OS. The only fix would be to re-isntall Windows and use the 32 bit version. Or get a second computer for that. Older kids games will run on just about any old computer.
