why my desk top computer canot restore the new date and time setting it goes back to 2002 setting

why my desktop computer cannot restore the new date and time setting, after unpluging it it return to jan. of 2002. ihave replace the simus battery and still desame...
please somebody help me....

Check the CMOS clear/battery jumper on the motherboard if you have one - it might be in the wrong position.

Unless your computer is really old, it is quite rare for them to need new CMOS batteries - particularly now that the CMOS runs from 5VSB when the computer is on standby or soft/ACPI-off.

Do you have the CMOS battery in correctly - normally shiny smooth side up
