why my gpu is running at x8 bus?

hello i have a sapphire hd 6570 2gb ddr3 gpu for 5 to 6 days i did not done any gaming in it but at the 6 th day when i opened my pc and checked the gpu it is saying that the gpu is only running at pci ex x8 2.o why can someone explain how to resolve it
my specs are
i3 2120@ 3.5 ghz
ASUS P8 H61MLX3 r2.0 mobo updated to new bios
Dual channel 8 gb ddr3 1333 mhz twinmos

Which pcie slot did you mount the card in? The top one is normally the one with x16 speed while the lower one will be x8.

what does that mean i have no other pci ex slot and i placed the card in 1 pci ex x16 slot

As the picture below you can see a motherboard with 2 pci excpress slots (dark blue). The slot closest to the bottom is usually only running at x8 speed while the top slot usually runs at x8 speed. So that is why I asked.

What motherboard do you have?

1x pci express 3/2 x16 slot my gpu is in that
2xpci ex x1 slot
so plz can u suggest me any solution of this issues???

First of all your performance loss by running x8 instead of x16 is almost none (around 1% probably meaning 2-3 fps) so don't panic too much as the problem does not affect you that much.

There are things that I would suggest you to do. What software tells you that you are running x8? Are you using GPU-Z? Please try to use other programs to determine what bus speed you are running just in case.

Another thing that you want to consider is to udpate your BIOS if not already up to date.

You can also go into your BIOS and check if you can manually set the bus speed of your pci express slot.

Some claim (if you do not have the lates BIOS version) that the USB 3.0 Turbo option also can causes conflict with the PCIe speed. You may want to try to disable USB 3.0 Turbo in the BIOS as well to see if this should be the case.
