Why my memory sticks read 4GB instead of 6GB?

Hi all,

I'd like to ask why my RAM only reads 4GB instead of 6GB? It is Corsair Dominator Triple Channel memory. My system specs are as follows:

CPU: i7-965
Mobo: Gigabyte EX58-UD5
RAM: Corsair Dominator 6GB triple channel CM3X2G1800C8D XMS3-1800 8-8-8-24 1.80V

I put the memory sticks in different slots, many different combinations, even removing the dedicated RAM cooler, but still only reads 4GB. Could it be a BIOS issue or dead memory stick?

Here's a link to the picture of my RAM. They're 2GB each, a total of three sticks.

Thanks for your time.

Solution
Try running the free version of memtest86 on the sticks, 1 at a time. Any errors are too many and could show you why its not responding. It creates a bootable USB so don't need to run it from windows.

If all 3 sticks come out as fine, check the slots as well
