Sounds like you're just hearing the vibration from it. HDDs have platters inside them spinning at extremely high speeds, so they generate some vibration.

Sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive. 🙁

Is the sound really loud? Could you record it?
My suggestion would be to back up the crucial data stored on it until you sort this out.

After that, you can attach it with different SATA & power cables to another SATA port and see if the issue persists.

Is the HDD under warranty?
