Why my windows 7 cant show the usb storage?

Hello,when i put in the usb hard drive,why cant show the device anything?

Is the drive working? Is the drive formatted? The usb ports that you have inserted into are working correct? Have you gone to my computer and saw if it says: removable disk and what ever the letter is?
