Question Why no 3rd display with ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series?

I just got done with the most frustrating installation of this card ever. Half the time it wouldn't do anything or else it died, then come to find out I can't even use my third monitor anymore. My last card had three monitors hooked up to it with no problem, but this one says " you need one of two displays disabled to enable another display" what is this utter bull? A card with 4 ports and it can't even use over two at a time! What a waste. Could someone please help me figure out why this is as stupid as it is? And how to actually get a third display?

As per anandtech
To enable triple display output you first must select the option in the BIOS to enable SurroundView. Your PCI Express graphics card will, by default, function as your primary display driver, but of course this is reconfigurable once in Windows.

I have never heard of this option ever. And I've also never seen it on the Dell Studio XPS 9100's BIOS at all. And what I saw on the webpage was that it was using two ports on the card and one onboard a MB. But my MB doesn't have an onboard display port, so I guess it's time for a replacement possibly?
