Hi folks.
I am trying to learn some HW
I have this old Acer Aspire 5542mobo laptop with 8 Gb ram, new CMOS battery, and AMD Athlon CPU.
I know what you will say: it's old stuff, throw it away.
But the fact is that I like working on old notebooks so I ask you to please bear with me.
There is no video so I should understand that the video chip is gone. Which is a common fact with this type of mobo.
But what I find odd is that also the fan stops after a little while despite that the mobo gets reasonable warm. I tried replacing the RAM but no improvement.
I hope you can give me a little help.
