Okay, tfts consume less space and electricity, and are more sleek(some of them).
Apart from that...
there's only bad things on them!

So many friggin models to pick from,ghosting-slow response, bad viewing angles, bad refresh rates, not good for games-movies,and VERY PRICEY.

why the heck should i pick a tft monitor?
Cause its been stuck in my head for long and i wonder if im just making a mistake...which i realised today, getting a headache from a friends tft monitor(why is just 15" but anyway)..and there i was thinking that lcds are easy on the eyes.

can u lcd users support your decisions?

((btw im using a viewsonic crt 19" e790 for almost 3 years now(its not flat screen) and i want an upgrade.thats whats the confusion's all about))

If you're asking those questions, then chances are an LCD is not for you. I'm a CRT person myself. Sure, I'd love to have a flat panel rather than a behemoth glass tube sitting on my desk, but there are drawbacks.

The main thing is simply convenience. LCD's work just fine for alot of tasks, such as web browsing, text editing, coding, slower paced games, etc. Not everyone plays Unreal Tournament and touches up paintings in photoshop, so it's not as much of an issue.

Also, generally speaking, LCD's ARE easier on the eyes. Many people suffer from discomfort caused by the refresh rates of CRT monitors. Different people notice it at different levels, but it's a factor in eye strain for just about everyone. (Even at 80hz, my eyes feel strained after a bit)

There are quite a few very good quality CRT's available. My suggestion is to read some reviews and decide what features you're going to want. I suggest something capable of a decent refresh rate at a high resolution (ie 1600x1200@80hz), but tailor your needs to your computing habits.
