Hello Community,

I can't figure out what to do to fix the screen tearing in Witcher 3! This is my build BTW:

Monitor:LG 29UM69G-B 29
GPU: Vega 64 Aircool
Mobo: Maximus Hero IX
CPU: i7 6700k
PSU: 850 W Gold
RAM: RipJaws 2x8 2400
SSD: WD 1TB

Solution
You need to determine if the cable, port on the gpu or monitor is defective.
First step would be to:
1) Test the cable on another system if available.
2) Purchase a second display port cable to test on your existing rig.
Pick one of these steps that is more readily available to you and start there.

This review is from: LG 29UM69G-B 29" FreeSync IPS WFHD Ultrawide Gaming Monitor, Dynamic Action Sync, 4 Screen Split, On-Screen Control, HDMI, USB-C, DisplayPort
Pros: Wide.

Cons: Only comes with hdmi cable. So that 75hz/freesync is useless until you get dp.
No tilt or swivel. It's just stationary.

Other Thoughts: I don't get why it doesn't come with a displayport cable.
The free game on their main site also takes at least 3 weeks to verify.

Hey, so I bought the display cord you listed the link to. However, my computer says "No Signal detected Enter power saving mode shortly"

Yes, I changed the monitor input. And I did also have HDMI unplugged as well.

I'll have to check to make sure it's in all the way. They seemed to have slid in easily, so I'm assuming yes.

So, I'm not sure if there was a correct end to the cable that needed to go to the GPU and one to the monitor. Out of sheer randomness I decided to switch the monitor side to GPU side and vice versa. Anyways, that did the trick oddly enough. Thanks for the help though guys!
