I think it was smart of Sony to include motion sensor technology. Sure it's a rip off but Sony also riped off the analague thing and made it even better with dual analagues. This makes the REV look not as revolutionary and also leaves M$ as the only one without the motion tech. And nobody is going to say "I really like how this game plays with the motion sensor but because it's a rip off it sucks".

Well beside the fact that its one more reason for the average gamer to dislike and distrust sony, the major drawback of the motion sesor will be that you cant efficiently mix a standard controller and a motion sensing one. Part of the reason the Wiimote has a lot less buttons, and is split into two controllers, is because you cant fling your hands around and be able to use the analog sticks and buttons like normal. But since Sonys contoller doesnt have all the functionality as the Wiimote (light sensor, 3d position detection) it has to mix both styles. Its another marketing device by sony to get more interest in the p$3, but once people get to demo it in the store, its not going to look so good. Its just a last minute throw in.

Oh and $ony says that had to drop rumble for the feature. The real reason is that they got their asses handed to them in court by Immersion Co, the original designers of rumble. MS was smart enough to pay them to licence the tech but greedy $ony insisted on fighting it out. Well my 2 cents.

Does it really matter? I mean really? It will either work and be enjoyed or it will be a failure and game developers will ignore the feature.

Don't go losing sleep over decisions Sony makes.

If sony is so greedy why does MS make more on Each XBOX 360 they sale? Sony has to take a larger hit per unit and even put a HD DVD in the system which MS ruled out for cost.

Neither Sony nor MS *make* money on their consoles. They both lose $150+ on the their machines, subsidizing the cost with software sales. Furthermore, Sony may lose more on their console but they are forced to charge a lot more for it to pay for Blu-ray, while dumping the majority of features that Sony had claimed would make the console superior to 360.

What makes them greedy is that they are asking people to pay at minimum $500 for a console. They dont do it to make money on the console. They're strategy is it make money off Blu-ray movies later on, by installing a defacto Blu-ray player into every home that has a PS3. Sony owns the rights to the Blu-ray spec, and if BR becomes the popular format than they can charge every other studio to lincence the right to use it.

In the meantime they are focused on packing extras into PS3 to "add value" (oh, well i guess not so many extras in the cheaper version ; got to pony up $600 to get some of what they originally promised). Instead of making a great gaming experience, they have forced the fans to fund their Blu-ray ambitions, and limited their ability to not pay for high dollar add-ins. That is what makes them Greedy.

Not only that but the E3 2005 games with Pixar-quality graphics which have turned out to be barely XBOX-360 level (Tekken 6, anyone?).

It doesn't help that their halo game (excuse the pun) is a HD version of a tedious game which was released over a year ago (Gran Turismo 4).

No, what makes them greedy is being a business.

Businesses try to maximise profits. It's what they do. Any entity that sells products for more than it's manufacture costs is "being greedy"... but thank god they do or we wouldn't have much stuff to buy...

You can hardly complain that Sony are without competition, so they can charge whatever they feel like. If they charge a price that the market won't pay, then the PS3 will fail. Conversely, if the PS3 is a massive success, it means it must have been at what people felt was a fair price.

The concept of greed within business only makes sense where you have a monopoly - especially for a necessary commodity (e.g. water). Otherwise the market will regulate prices.

I understand Market Equilibrium, and I understand that *all* corporations are in the business of making money. That said, different companies express varying degrees of interest in the actual value of the product or service they offer to the customer. Furthermore, certain companies do not feel obligated to be trueful with their customers.

Anyone remember "Real Time Toy Story gfx", or claiming that RSX does 1.8 TFLOPS (nVidia, who MAKES the chip claims 250 GFLOPS), or the ridiculous Killzone 2 tech demo form last years E3; shocking we didnt see an appearance of any kind for the game this E3 8O.

MS may not be the Salvation Army - not by any stretch - but when it comes to the PS, Sony doesnt care what kind of product the consumer gets, only what they think they'll get. Regardless of whether customers buy a product or not, anytime a company soley cares about their bottom line, and forgets about customer satisfaction they are Greedy.
