My mobo is hp compaq 6000 and i purchased a hyperx fury ramhttp://, but it's giving me a 5 beeps error which means memory problem. Can you please tell me what's going wrong here and this ram is perfectly working in other machines.link of memory

Solution
It's highly likely it hasn't been tested with your mobo. The fast ram settings work on XMP profiles. You may not be able to use this given the mobo is a HP generic/locked mobo. However, if you have voltage controls for the mem, you might be able to get them to work.

You need to go to the bios and set the memory voltage to 1.5v. If the mobo allows you to change memory timings, this is even better. Then you need to input the 5 timings printed on the side of your new DIMM into the corresponding setting in the bios.

Once you have done this, reboot, there is a chance they will work. Not guaranteed though. If after doing those steps the mem doesn't work then there is nothing else you can do, but return the DIMM for a refund.

The mobo is only rated for 1333mhz. So you may also need to set the ram speed at that.

It is also worth updating the BIOS for the mobo from HP's website. This will ensure the latest compatibility for the ram, and might help getting them to work.

Actually the story is different. I don't want to go into highly technical language to confuse everyone around here, so will try to be simple.

Fury RAM was designed for Intel’s 100 Series chipset, like LGA 1151, it has automatic turbo boost - "automatically overclocks to frequencies up to 1866MHz" as stated in second OP link.

Compaq 6000 is pretty old PC with Intel Intel Q43 Express, LGA 775, which doesn't support automatic RAM boost (automatic voltage increase).

OP need more simple DDR3 RAM and the best here comes from Crucial http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP---Compaq/6000-pro-microtower
