Question Why two identical PCIE AT-2711fx/mt Fibre optic cards will not link?

I've two identical PCI AT-2701fx/mt cards and two identical PCI-E AT-2711fx/mt cards...all fiber optic. The two 2701 cards see each other and link. Both PCIe 2711s connected to either PCI 2701 see each other and link. The two PCIe 2711's will not direct link. Do not even see each other. I've tried different drivers with no luck.OS is Windows 10 home on both machines. Assigned static IP addresses to both machines...direct transferred files back and forth. But the two PCIe 2711s will not negotiate at all. Dark LEDs...I am not a technician just someone messing around with this. Thanks for any suggestions!

Why are you using 100FX? If those are mt cards with mtrj connectors, you can't get the crossover wrong.

They do have the mtrj connectors and the cables work great.....the question is why they work PCI 2701 to 2701 and PCIe2711 to PCI 2701 but not PCIe 2711 to PCIe 2711......?

Not a clue. I have never used 100fx at home and at work it was gone ten or more years ago.

Yeah I don't use them for anything really just messin' around with them ..... Just thought I'd see if someone had an idea.....I use 1 gb ethernet for my gaming machines.. or wireless....Thanks though for the reply!
