My Asus ROG STRIX Z690-E GAMING motherboard will not boot from any disk consistently, nor will it recognize non-system disks. These disks work on a this computer prior to the problem and on a different (AMD Asus) computer after the problem. Tried both Windows 10 and 11. This Z-690 computer has the following configuration:
CPU: Intel Core i7-13700KF
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3070
SSD: Crucial P5 Plus NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB (booted 1st connection)
Windows 10
SSD: SNV3510-400G 400GB (booted before the problem but never again)
Windows 11
HDD: ST10000NM0086-2AA101 10TB NAS (not recognized after onset of the problem)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 5600 C36 2x16GB
MBD: Asus ROG STRIX Z690-E GAMING WIFI
OS: Windows 10 P
The problem started when I changed the Bios settings. When I restored the settings to the way they were, the problem persisted. Since the problem started, the Z-690 booted with a newly formatted Teamgroup Vulcan 1TB SSD (to which I transferred the Operating system from the Crucial P5 Plus SSD) until I removed the disk from the system. After I reinstalled it, the computer would no longer boot. It will not boot from a USB.
The one disk that would boot after more than one installation was with a Zorin Linux OS on a Kingston 500 GB. It also boots from a DVD.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
