Question Why Windows Update failed

On the the latest update for Windows 10, after restart the spinning dots froze when installing the update. I waited a while then reset the machine, again the spinning dots froze and Windows would not start. I reset the machine again and was given the option to activate Startup repair, I did and after it had finished the update installed correctly and Windows started normally.

Is this problem likely to reoccur in the future?

Intel i7 3770k cpu
16 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
Corsair TX 650m psu
Saphire R9 270x gpu
