Why wont hp 6200 printer fax if color ink cartridge not working

My color cartridges for hp 6200 printer are constantly drying out and I am sick of wasting my money on them. Now because the color printer is out, the machine won't even send a fax or allow b/w copying. Miraculously I am able to print out in black and white. Help!

Well there is a correlation in sending a fax and your scanner not copying. You can't send a fax if the document isn't scanned first. So I guess would be something is going wrong with scanner. It could be driver problem or a hardware problem.

Maybe resetting the machine will help.
