Question Why wont my monitor turn on?

After buying a used ( but in good condition) i7-4771 processor and replacing it with my old Pentium cpu the monitor wont connect to the PC at all. The PC in general turns on perfectly but after that it doesn't display anything. Could it be that the dude I bought it off lied about it being in good condition? Or is it perhaps something to do with updating the BIOS? Any help is appreciated.

if you put the old pentium back, does it work?
motherboard model? bios up to date to support 4771?

May be a bios problem, because like we all know motherboard manufacturers had to make bios updates for kabylake cpu's for them to work

H81M-P33. Also I'm about to try with my old processor to see if that'll still work.

Yeah, you will typically need a supported CPU installed to perform a BIOS update for the newer processor, since the system won't be able to start to perform the update otherwise.

Just realised I have a h81m-p33 plus and thetes only one bios download from 2015. So do you think I should download that?

Yeah you can do that, or if you have a secondary pc you can do that fron there too. See if that helps
