why wont my new graphics card turn on?

i installed my new graphics card today and i have the external power and all the requirements but it wont turn on, idk what to do

What make and model graphics card? What OS?

Are you sure that you fully and firmly seated the graphics card?

Did you download the current drivers via the manufacturer's website?
